The roadway between Laxfield Road and the playing field is owned by the council. It is showing signs of wear and tear, and the bank alongside the water course on its eastern edge has been eroded.

First, the council arranged for a topographical survey of the access road. A civil engineering company used that survey and a site visit to provide the council with a report that includes a summary of the state of the roadway, including possible reasons for its deteriorating condition. In the report are recommendations for work to improve the structure of the roadway.

The council has set up a working group to tackle the problems with the roadway. The members of the group are Cllrs Garry Deeks, Nick Stolls, Rachael Troughton and Di Warne, and clerk to the council, Andy Parris. The meetings will be chaired by Di Warne.
