First off, a big thank you to all the fabulous volunteers who answered the call in March to help the parish out. We were overwhelmed with the response we had. With over 90 people coming forward we were able to rapidly step up quickly with confidence that we were able to have a sustainable response to the pandemic. We have 21 active Volunteers, with the remaining as volunteer reserves, willing to join the active team should we need to ask them. To date, it is good news that we have not had to call upon the team of reserves, as we are thankfully managing the volume of calls that are relatively low compared to other parts of the county and region.
We have had over 130 requests for support. The most of these are for help with shopping and picking up prescriptions. These requests are way ahead of other requests. The volunteers have been, and continue to be there for our villagers. We are not putting this to bed, and it is very much the vision to evolve this to ensure we have a scheme that lives beyond COVID-19.
