Normally the council meets twice a month. The first Tuesday of the month is a planning meeting and the third Tuesday is a full council meeting. The finance committee meets five times during the year.
However Covid-19 and central government regulations have made things more complicated! After 10 months of meeting online, the regulations which permitted virtual meetings have expired and nothing has replaced them. This means that local councils can no longer make decisions at virtual meetings.
Fressingfield Parish Council does not think face to face meetings are currently a safe option. As a result, it decided at its meeting on 4 May to approve a scheme to delegate decisions making responsibility to the clerk. You can read the scheme by following this link.
Virtual meetings will continue. These are called surgeries and anyone can attend and join in with discussions. The clerk will use these meetings as a guide if he has to make any decisions under the scheme of temporary delegation. The re-arranged schedule of meetings for the year until next May can seen by clicking here.
